“Girl(Boy)14”
(Argentina) Student Short
Director: Fernando Dominguez Sarmeinto
DV / 25 min.

Inspired in real life, we are here closely following the life of the typical Jekyll and Hyde character: a little manic-depressive teen girl that snaps from now and then into this aggressive character. The twist? The passive character is performed by a girl, and the aggressive by a boy. The character is driven to take immediate action when she/he is constantly threatened by family, school peers, teachers and bullies for her/his anti-social behavior. The result: media induced violence. Inspired from films such as The Matrix, she/he begins to create a world of imagination where she is the victim, and he, the hero.

“Last Wish”
(Slovenia) Foreign Short
Director: Petar Pasic
35mm / 9 min. 35 sec.

This short film shows us a chicken’s path from its execution at the factory all the way to a plate of a man, who is awaiting his own execution. While following the entire circle (between the two deaths), we can hear people in the background talking about their every-day problems and life in general, but at the same time those people are trapped in their own little circles (workers at the factory, delivers, drivers, cooks, guards), without being aware of how much in common they have (their circles, ways of thinking, interests,…). This film is a metaphorical presentation of our lives and our similarities even though we tend to believe that we are all so very different.
